Tesora : Treasure (Italian)
Tesora was inspired by themes of mortality and the words of Joél L. Daniels:
We're not entitled to anyone's time or energy. People don't owe us anything, which is why the privilege of knowing and sharing space with people we care for should be seen as a privilege and opportunity, rather than a thing that is owed.
Greed is often seen as selfish and childish, rooted in ego and entitlement. Tesora, however, reframes greed as self-preservation. In a world that demands constant access to our time, attention, and presence, Tesora stands for fiercely protecting our energy. Time is her treasure, and she withholds to protect what is finite. Her hourglass-inspired crinoline structure frames her body like armor, showing that what confines us can also protect us.
“7” Series
"7" is a reimagining of the Seven Deadly Sins through the lens of Black womanhood, race, and femininity— transforming them from moral failings into acts of self-preservation, autonomy, and reclamation.
This series challenges the way Black women are denied the right to anger, indulgence, pride, and desire, reframing these "sins" as necessary virtues- pathways to self-awareness, freedom, and intentional living.
Each piece serves as a space where Black women can exist beyond control, expectation, or justification.
